Open Day at our new office (posted 1.8.08)
We realise that many students do not have time to attend interviews during the week, because of classes. We have therefore decided that our office will be open on the following Saturdays from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm:
Saturday 9th August 08
Saturday 16th August 08
During these times we will be making presentations to interested participants and conduct interviews. Registration required.
Important news for Graduating Students (posted 29.12.06)
There has recently been a change to the regulations governing the Work & Travel USA programme, which is, on the face of it, good news for final year students.
The new rules mean that graduating students, who are in their final year of study, are now eligible for the Work & Travel USA programme, even if they are not returning to full time study after participating in the programme.
However, the situation is not quite that simple. Even though final year students are technically eligible to participate, the decision as to whether to issue a visa to travel to the USA still rests with the US embassy in the participants' country of residence. The embassy has the final say and you will still need to convince the visa officer at interview that you will be returning to your home country after completing your programme.
What this means in practice is that even though you might be eligible for the programme, be accepted into it, receive your DS form, get confirmation of a job, etc., you might still not receive a visa when you go to the US embassy for interview.
If you are a final year student who is interested to participate in the Work & Travel USA programme, please contact us to discuss your individual situation BEFORE signing up for the programme. There is no charge for this consultation.
